Here’s another darktable video, this time I go through an edit on a single image, a lovely portrait of Olivia Holland by photographer Michael Savage downloaded from the froknowsphoto forum.

In this case you can compare how I edited the file in darktable with how Jared and Greg edited it in Lightroom.  I discuss portrait lenses, focus plane, spot white balance, exposure, clarity (local contrast) and separating the subject from the background with a low pass filter (blur) and masks. This shot was taken with a Canon 500D with Canon 50mm f/1.8 II (plastic fantastic), so it’s a demo of how you can take great photos on humble equipment.
